Localisation

(or ‘Localization’, depending on your locale)

Make your brand feel at home in the UK

I can trace back my awareness of localisation to when I was 11 years old, watching The Parent Trap. I desperately wanted it to be real (because how cool would it be to find a long-lost identical twin from California?!).

Then came the line: “Your birthday is on October 11?!”

As a British child, it immediately caught my attention. We would say “Your birthday is on the 11th of October?!”. Add in references to Oreos (long before they were common in the UK) dipped in peanut butter, and the illusion disappeared.

Small details, yes. But enough to show how powerful localisation can be.

By localising your content, you’ll enhance trust, build better engagement and brand loyalty, improve market penetration, and make customers feel ‘at home’ and understood.

Localisation goes far beyond spelling changes. It’s about understanding culture, expectations, humour, tone and the subtle details that make communication feel effortless.

As an experienced British localisation specialist, I’ll seek out the phrases that will not land, replacing them with comforting cultural connections. As a tone of voice expert, I’ll channel yours so you can reach your British market demographic without losing your identity. My eye for detail and precision means I also spot many of the little details that make your mark, and my linguistic experience puts me in a prime position to ensure all of your content, down to every spelling and grammar change and sentence structure, is in line with British English.
